Thinking Of Visiting London? Find Out The Best Place To Go

Thinking Of Visiting London?  Find Out The Best Place To Go
London is a fantastic choice for body searching for an exciting city break.  With more than 14 million tourists arriving in the capital every year, and eight million permanent residents.  It should come as no surprise to learn that, whatever time of day or night, there is always something to do, and people with which to mingle.

England’s capital city is a true cultural melting pot, with more than 200 languages spoken on a regular basis, wherever you come from, then, London will feel familiar and welcoming.  Although, as an aside, you may find the people a little cold until you familiarise yourself with the city; with so many people milling around, interaction is limited – imagine how many conversations you would have if everyone stopped to talk.  Furthermore, during the working week, the locals are busy, and have little time for niceties – remember not to take this personally, and you will have a fantastic time...

If you are new to the city, then we recommend choosing accommodation in one of the Oxford Circus hotels in London.  Oxford Circus is in central London, and a prime location for easy access to all of the most exciting venues and attractions.  Staying at either the Oxford Circus, or Oxford Street hotels London, will help to make your trip a memorable one, and here’s why...

Attractions near Oxford Circus and Oxford Street

Marble Arch
Less than half a mile away, and around a fifteen-minute walk, you will find Marble Arch.  Marble Arch is a historic monument, where, in the past, only the King or Queen and their Royal Troops were able to walk through the arch.  Nowadays, everybody can, and it is quite fun to do at least once – especially when you think that you are treading on ground walked by royalty.

Hyde Park
Marble Arch is located at the corner of Hyde Park.  There are many attractions within the park.  Most fun is the Serpentine Lake (where tourists can hire boats) and the Diana Memorial Fountain (where tourists can paddle their feet).  There are always events happening in the park, which vary from day to day.  It’s great fun to take a walk around the park and see what’s on offer.

Tower of London
Another historic site, the Tower is home to the Crown Jewels.  Take a tour of the Tower and learn about its gruesome history.

Other sites within close proximity, but a little further than those mentioned, include, Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, London Eye, London Aquarium, Big Ben.  There are regular open bus tours that collect passengers in Oxford Circus, which will take you on a trip around the most famous London sites.

Entertainment

Theatre
This is where it gets fun.  Oxford Circus and Oxford Street are located in Theatreland – the largest theatre district in the world.  You will always be able to find a play or musical to watch in one of the many theatres in the area.

Pubs and Clubs
The nightlife here is one of the best in London.  Soho and the West End are the places to head to find the best clubs and pubs.  Ask the locals which clubs are better on which nights, and about the type of music you can find there.  The clubs in the area vary from very upmarket (costing upward of £100 for entry) to grungy (many are free).

Shopping
This is by far the best location for shopping, regardless of taste:
  • Oxford Street is the place to go for high street fashion.
  • Bond Street is the place to go for designer fashion.
London is one of the fashion capitals of the world, and these two streets represent the home of London fashion.
